with strong expertise in refinery construction/expansion projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards, implementing refinery-specific safety protocols, and liaising with client representatives and statutory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor refinery project safety standards in line with OISD, PESO, CPWD, and statutory guidelines.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification specific to refinery operations.
Ensure strict compliance with
hot work permits, confined space entry, scaffolding safety, and work-at-height protocols
.
Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills (fire, explosion, chemical handling).
Prepare and maintain safety records, incident/accident reports, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate with client HSE teams, consultants, and subcontractors for safety-related issues.
Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the workforce.
Represent the organization in client review meetings and provide professional presentations on safety performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma / Degree in Engineering with
Diploma in Industrial Safety
(mandatory).
Experience: Minimum
7 years
in safety management, with at least
3 years in refinery or oil & gas projects
.
Certifications: NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA / OHSAS / ISO 45001 will be an added advantage.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of refinery-specific safety protocols and industry standards (OISD, PESO, IS/NBC).
Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, safety reporting tools, presentation preparation).
Excellent communication and ability to
represent safety performance to client and directors
.
In-depth understanding of construction safety, process safety, and emergency response in refinery projects.
Ability to train and motivate teams on safety practices.
