Job Description

The Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's occupational health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment and maintain compliance with all local, state, and national regulations. This role involves hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and promoting a strong culture of safety across the organization.

Risk Management and Hazard Control



Risk Assessment:

Perform systematic risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) to identify potential hazards in the workplace (e.g., machinery, chemicals, working at heights, ergonomics).

Mitigation:

Recommend and enforce preventative measures to control or eliminate risks and hazards.

Equipment Management:

Ensure all safety equipment (e.g., PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid kits) is properly maintained, functional, and readily available.

3. Incident and Emergency Response



Investigation:

Thoroughly investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses using root cause analysis to determine contributing factors.

Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports on incidents, findings, and violations, and recommend corrective and preventative actions to management.

Emergency Preparedness:

Develop, implement, and coordinate emergency response plans and procedures (e.g., evacuation, fire drills) and oversee their execution.

4. Training and Safety Culture



Training Programs:

Plan, organize, and conduct mandatory safety training sessions, workshops, and induction programs for new and existing employees.

Promote Culture:

Actively promote a positive health and safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and soliciting employee feedback on safety matters.

Communication:

Conduct regular safety briefings ("toolbox talks") and maintain effective communication channels for safety-related information.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Experience:

X+ years of proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar OHS role, preferably within the [Insert Your Industry Here] industry.

Certifications:

Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, CSP, OSHA 30-Hour) is highly desirable.

Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and procedures applicable to the business.

Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessment and incident investigation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train employees and interact with management and regulatory bodies. Proficient in using safety management software and MS Office applications.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
