Job Title: Safety Officer (Building & Construction)
Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations on building and construction sites. This role involves identifying hazards, implementing safety measures, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture to prevent accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local and international health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on construction sites
Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Identify potential hazards related to construction activities and recommend corrective actions
Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices
Prepare and implement safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments (MSRA)
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training for workers and subcontractors
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures
Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, excavation, lifting operations, scaffolding, and confined spaces
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance
Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation
Stop unsafe work practices and issue safety warnings or notices when required
Promote a positive safety culture on-site
Requirements and Qualifications
BSc in Physics & chemistry diploma in engineering, or higher technical qualification / having advanced diploma in industrial safety.
Certified Safety Officer (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent)
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in building and construction safety
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
Experience with risk assessments, incident investigation, and safety audits
Good communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Proficient in preparing reports and safety documentation Skills and Competencies

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
