Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and programs in accordance with applicable regulations (OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.).
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical safety standards (GMP, GxP, ICH guidelines, etc.).
Conduct risk assessments (JHA/JSA) and job hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards.
Training & Awareness
Conduct regular EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Organize drills and emergency response training (chemical spills, fire, medical emergencies).
Maintain records of all safety training programs and certifications.
Incident Management
Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses.
Prepare incident reports and root cause analysis.
Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Auditing & Reporting
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and walkthroughs of the facility.
Prepare safety reports, metrics, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Support regulatory inspections and audits (e.g., FDA, EPA, local authorities).
Hazardous Materials & Waste Management
Oversee the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with local and international laws.
Maintain chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and HR to promote a culture of safety.
Participate in cross-functional meetings for new process or equipment introductions to ensure safety considerations are addressed.
