Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Establish and manage safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Review and update safety protocols regularly to ensure they align with current laws and best practices.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification:
Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and safety risks.
Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating identified risks.
Ensure that all equipment, tools, and machinery are maintained and used safely.
Safety Inspections & Audits:
Conduct regular site visits and safety audits to ensure that safety standards are being adhered to.
Document and report findings from inspections and audits, following up on corrective actions to be taken.
Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management, regulatory agencies, and insurance companies.
Incident Reporting & Investigation:
Oversee the investigation of accidents, injuries, or near-misses to identify root causes.
Prepare detailed accident reports and submit them to appropriate authorities.
Develop strategies to prevent recurrence of incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Training & Education:
Develop and conduct training programs on topics such as fall protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), electrical safety, and emergency response.
Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and trends, sharing relevant information with team members.
Ensure all workers are properly trained and certified in required safety practices before commencing work.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns, questions, and reporting.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and safety consultants, as needed.
Compliance Management:
Monitor the construction site to ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws, regulations, and codes of practice.
Ensure that safety documentation (e.g., safety plans, risk assessments, safety meetings minutes) is up to date and accessible.
Assist with the procurement and maintenance of safety-related equipment and materials.
Emergency Response & Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, including fire, injury, and evacuation procedures.
Organize and conduct emergency drills to test readiness and improve response times.
