Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced

Safety Manager (HSE)

to oversee the Health, Safety, and Environmental operations at our solar power plant in Omkareshwar. The role involves implementing strong safety systems, ensuring statutory compliance, reducing risks, and fostering a Zero Harm culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership & Compliance

Develop and implement site-specific HSE plans aligned with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001. Ensure 100% statutory and regulatory compliance for all plant operations. Drive overall EHS governance for solar plant activities.

Risk & Incident Management

Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for all critical tasks. Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis (RCA), and close all CAPA actions. Oversee high-risk activity controls including LOTO, electrical work, and working at heights.

Permit to Work & Operational Control

Manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system with strict compliance monitoring. Conduct audits on LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, and electrical maintenance processes.

Training & Safety Culture

Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills (fire, medical, shock response). Manage EHS training matrices, competency evaluations, and GWO compliance. Promote a Zero Harm culture through leadership visibility and engagement.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

Monitor and audit safety performance of subcontractors (module cleaning, security, housekeeping). Ensure contractor compliance with site HSE rules.

Audits & Reporting

Lead internal, customer, and cross-functional EHS audits. Maintain HSE dashboards and track leading/lagging indicators (TRFR, LTIFR). Manage e-waste disposal (solar panels, batteries) and ensure environmental compliance.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory; NEBOSH Diploma/Grad-IOSH preferred. In-depth knowledge of DC/AC safety, arc flash protection, high-voltage systems, and work-at-height safety. Strong understanding of environmental safety, waste management, and vegetation control. Proficiency in HSE reporting, dashboarding, and incident documentation.

Candidate Profile

Minimum

5 years

of HSE experience, including

2+ years

in a managerial role. Experience in solar/renewable energy or power sector preferred. Strong decision-making ability with "authority with empathy." Excellent communication, leadership, and auditing skills.
