The opportunityLead the implementation of transport safety strategies and initiatives across Toll's logistics operations in India, ensuring alignment with corporate HSE policies and local regulatory requirements.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable transport safety regulations, including motor vehicle laws, driver safety standards, and hazardous goods transportation guidelines.
Conduct thorough investigations of transport-related incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers and transport staff, including defensive driving, fatigue management, and emergency response procedures.
Collaborate with fleet and operations teams to ensure vehicles are maintained in safe operating condition. Participate in vehicle inspections and audits.
Track and analyse transport safety KPIs (e.g., accident frequency, driver violations, compliance scores) and present insights to management for continuous improvement.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (operations, HR, fleet, compliance) and external partners (vendors, contractors) to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
What you'll need to succeedExperience in a similar role in Logistics & Supply Chain industry
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Safety Management, with a proven track record in developing and implementing robust safety programs and achieving measurable reductions in incident rates.
