Safety engineers ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across multiple sites by implementing policies, conducting risk assessments leading incident investigations, delivering training (inductions, toolbox talks), managing permits, and preparing reports for senior management.
Deep knowledge of local/national safety laws for various industries like EPC, Infra, or Manufacturing. Enforce central/state safety laws, codes, and best practices across all project locations.
Conduct routine safety walks, internal audits, and inspections of sites, machinery, and vehicles; track non-compliance and suggest corrective actions.
Investigate, prepare, submit & maintain records of first aid cases & checklist, accident cases, near miss reports, incident reports, observation reports, site inspection, manpower & health safety environment (HSE) reports.
Develop and deliver safety inductions, training programs, and toolbox talks, foster a
strong safety culture among company's workforce as well as
subcontractors/visitors on emergency response procedures, handling material and other aspects of environmental management, to ensure that they understand and comply with the company s policies and standards.
Regular visits to project sites, and inspection of project location safety, crane safety, electrical safety, fire extinguishers, first aid boxes, hand tools, power tools, machinery, safety hygiene conditions, hazard identification and preventive measures, to ensure a hazard free environment.
Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and develop preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
Inspection of scaffolds and ensure safety before commencing the work
Develop, update, and drill Emergency Response Plans
Conduct routine systematic safety meeting/ audit/ inspections.
Administrate Safety Management System & HSE statistics.
Preparing of Risk Assessment & Safe Work Procedures in workplace.
Plan and Conduct Safety Promotional Event or Activities.
Preparing of HSE related questionnaires for job contract tendering
Ad-Hoc duties as assigned by superior.
Ready to travel across India
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering with 6 to 8 years of experience in the crane industry.
Should have specialized in Occupational Safety and Health. certifications like NEBOSH and IOSH are pluses.
Proven experience in a similar safety role within oil & gas, power plants, refineries.
Strong understanding of heavy lifting erection and operation, crane loading and assembly / disassembly work, ESG Awareness / ISO Safety Standards
