Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for construction projects.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and internal audits.
Identify unsafe acts or conditions and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Participate in risk assessments and preparation of safety plans.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; assist in preparing reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory and company safety regulations.
Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, and documentation.
Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
Monitor safe handling, usage, and storage of construction materials.
Support in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
Conduct mock drills and evacuation exercises at site.
Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure safety practices are followed.
Liaise with external safety auditors and government authorities during inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or an equivalent field.
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a Safety Engineer in the construction industry.
Certification in safety management (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred.
Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
Good communication, observation, and reporting skills.
Ability to work effectively under site conditions and deadlines.
