We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our manufacturing processes. This position requires a strong background in industrial engineering, process engineering, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations within a manufacturing facility. The Safety Engineer will work collaboratively with various departments to identify potential hazards, implement safety protocols, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough risk assessments and root cause analysis to identify safety hazards within the manufacturing environment.
Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design safe workspaces using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo.
Monitor manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding, welding, and CNC programming to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Utilize lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining safety.
Provide training sessions for employees on safety practices and emergency response procedures.
Analyze data from vision inspection systems and other industrial equipment to improve safety measures.
Engage in project scheduling for safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with robotics teams on robot programming and assembly line operations to ensure safe integration of technology.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in a manufacturing facility with a focus on safety engineering.
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in tooling, fabrication, and assembly processes.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and CNC programming is preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and CAM programming.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
Experience with robotics and automation systems is an asset.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
