Role Overview
The Safety Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies at the Solar EPC project site. The role ensures compliance with statutory safety norms, company safety standards, and client requirements to maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans at the Solar EPC site.
Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, labour laws, and client safety requirements.
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts/conditions.
Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, Method Statements (RAMS), and Work Permit systems.
Conduct safety induction and toolbox talks for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Ensure proper use of PPEs and enforce safety discipline at site.
Monitor safety practices during high-risk activities such as:
Electrical works (HT/LT)
Module installation
Structure erection
Lifting operations
Working at height
Investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
Coordinate with project, electrical, civil, and erection teams for safe execution of activities.
Maintain safety records, registers, permits, and documentation.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities during safety audits and inspections.
Ensure availability and proper maintenance of firefighting equipment and emergency response systems.
Conduct mock drills and emergency preparedness programs.
Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement at the project site.
2-5 years of safety experience in EPC / Solar / Power / Infrastructure projects
Experience in Solar EPC projects will be an added advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of HSE standards and statutory compliance
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to handle site workforce and subcontractors
Familiarity with safety documentation and audit processes
Proactive approach towards risk identification and mitigation
Knowledge of electrical safety and work-at-height safety
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Zero fatal accidents and reduced incident rates
Compliance with safety audits and client requirements
Timely reporting and closure of safety observations
Effective safety training and awareness programs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
