This role involves identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The Safety Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure the safety and reliability of Frauschers products and operations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues. Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, standards, and codes, including OSHA, ISO, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Promote awareness of safety practices and procedures.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes. Ensure that all safety measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including incident reports, training records, and audit findings. Prepare regular reports for management.
  • Product Safety: Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that all products meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in design reviews and safety assessments of new and existing products.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training exercises.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices and processes. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance safety performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to support safety initiatives and ensure alignment with company goals.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector. Experience with rail technology or related industries is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
