Overview:

Uma Marine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Marine Ship Safety Specialist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness and safety compliance of marine vessels under our care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine safety protocols and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, service, and certify inflatable life rafts in accordance with SOLAS and manufacturer standards. Maintain and test lifejackets, lifebuoys, immersion suits, EPIRBs, SARTs, and other lifesaving equipment. Inspect and maintain firefighting appliances, including extinguishers, hoses, and detection systems. Conduct safety inspections onboard vessels and ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and ISM Code requirements. Prepare inspection and service reports, maintain accurate documentation, and liaise with class societies. Assist with onboard safety drills and crew training when required.

Requirements:

Proven experience in marine ship safety procedures and techniques. Knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to perform duties effectively under pressure and in challenging maritime environments. Certification or training in marine safety, supply management, or vessel repair is preferred.
