Essential skill: o Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances o Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming o Understanding of functional programming style in Ruby o Skills for writing reusable Ruby libraries that may be used in expressive ways. o Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful o Experience with popular web application frameworks- Rails o Familiarity with command-suite libraries, such as Thor and GLI o Knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code. o Experience with both external and embedded databases o Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application o Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes. o Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests. o Proficient understanding of code versioning tools e.g. Git, Mercurial Or SVN o Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bower, Bundler, Rake o Familiarity with Continuous Integration Technical Skill Programming Language: Ruby Framework: Rails Database: PostgreSQL Cloud Platform: AWS Job Responsibilities: We are looking for a Ruby Developer responsible for building Ruby applications, including anything from complex groups of back-end micro services to command line utilities and data processing scripts.
