We are seeking a talented and experienced Test Engineer with a strong background in testing routers and switches to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a combination of coding skills and hardware debug skills, with a focus on generating automated tests for routers and switches and debugging issues that arise during the testing process.

What will you do at Ciena?(How You Will Contribute) :

Test Engineering support at Ciena\xe2\x80\x99s Contract Manufacturer site in Chennai (India)

Responsibilities

• Execute test plans for routers and switches
• Develop/Debug automated test scripts using scripting languages such as Python
• Debug and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product releases
• Work with vendors to improve testing methodologies and tools
• Develop and maintain documentation related to test plans and test results
• Drive improvement projects to optimize and/or standardize Ciena\xe2\x80\x99s test sequences.
• Interface between CienaR&DEngineer/Ciena Sr. Test Engineer and CM\xe2\x80\x99s Test Engineers to find solutions to specific issues.

Requirements(Must have) -

• Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing routers and switches
• Strong coding skills with experience in scripting languages such as Python
• Experience in hardware debug and troubleshooting of Routing and Switching products
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, and VLANs
• Windows/Linux general knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Languages: Tamil , English (Professional Working Proficiency level)
