Job Description

Rolling Operations Supervision:

Monitor and control TMT rolling processes (roughing, intermediate, and finishing stands). Ensure proper setup and adjustment of rolls, guides, loops, and cooling beds. Achieve specified size tolerances, elongation, and mechanical properties of bars.

Production & Performance Monitoring:

Ensure daily production targets are met as per quality and time standards. Minimize wastage and rolling defects like cobbles, bend bars, misalignment, etc. Maintain production logs, shift reports, and consumption records.

Manpower & Team Handling:

Allocate duties to mill operators, fitters, and helpers across shifts. Supervise, guide, and train workers on efficient rolling practices and safety. Conduct shift changeovers smoothly and communicate operational updates.

Quality Control:

Ensure compliance with BIS/IS standards for TMT bar sizes and properties. Work closely with the quality team to resolve product-related issues. Inspect products for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and uniformity.

Maintenance Coordination:

Identify operational faults in rolls, stands, gearboxes, and shears. Coordinate with the maintenance department for timely repairs and preventive checks. Ensure minimum downtime during roll changes and mechanical breakdowns.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

Enforce the use of PPE and safe operating practices in the rolling section. Comply with factory safety standards and conduct toolbox talks. Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the mill area.
