Role profile: Demand Planning individual combined with a Business Analyst role for an apparel retail brand involves forecasting demand, managing inventory, supporting cross-functional teams, and leveraging analytics for informed decision-making. This dual role targets optimal stock levels, cost management, and improved supply chain performance in a dynamic fashion environment.


Function: Analytics and Strategy


Skills:Prepare and manage monthly, seasonal, and weekly forecasts for retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels, using historical data, POS trends, market intelligence, and promotional calendars. Develop merchandise buy plans with style, color, and size details, factoring in sales, margin, and inventory projections aligned with store, region, and channel goals. Perform deep-dive statistical analysis and utilize forecasting models to predict future customer demand and supply needs. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to incorporate business campaigns, promotions, product launches, and customer insights into demand plans. Work on system integration projects, support business expansions, new product introductions, and ensure data quality in planning tools (Increff, POS, SAP). Monitor and track stock levels, sell-through rates, replenishments, and order flows, proactively addressing shortages, supply chain disruptions, and slow-moving inventory. Liaise with global and domestic suppliers to ensure timely delivery, negotiate pricing, and maintain vendor relationships for fabrics, trims, and finished goods matching forecasts.


Qualifications: Graduate in supply chain management, Business Statistics, Economics /IIT/ MBA from B-School


Experience: 4 years of experience in demand planning, merchandising, business analytics, supply chain, or related fields in apparel/fashion

Deep understanding of retail math, fashion product lifecycle, replenishment, and inventory management.

Proven experience with forecasting/planning software, AI and SAP) advanced Excel skills, and data visualization tools

Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork

Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive problem-solving approach with a track record of achieving business goals

Others: Support the S&OP process, facilitate monthly consensus meetings, and produce exception reports, performance metric dashboards, and root-cause analysis for deviations.Prepare actionable insights and business recommendations, aligning with financial budgets, promotional strategies, and inventory optimization targets.
