Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and supervise the
robotic welding machine
.
Load parts/fixtures and ensure correct alignment and clamping.
Start robot welding cycles and ensure production targets are met.
Monitor welding quality and machine performance; resolve issues.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of robot and welding equipment.
Troubleshoot welding parameters, hardware, and software issues.
Assist in programming robot paths and welding parameters.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
Ensure safety compliance -- PPE, lockout/tagout, risk assessments.
Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory:
Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics or equivalent.
Experience with
industrial robotic welding systems
(ABB, FANUC, KUKA, ESTUN etc.)
Good understanding of MIG/MAG welding processes and parameters.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and welding symbols.
Basic PLC and robot controller knowledge.
Preferred:
Certified welding training (e.g., IWE, AWS).
Experience with robot programming software.
Basic electrical & pneumatics troubleshooting.
Technical Proficiency
Robot Teach Pendant operation
Welding Power Source setup & parameters
Fixture & tooling setup
Quality inspection (visual and dimensional)
Safety Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures
Report hazards and near-misses
Ensure machine guarding and emergency stops are functioning
Reporting To
Production Manager / Automation Lead
Working Conditions
Industrial environment -- steel, welding fumes (PPE required)
Shift work possible
