RMO (Resident Medical Officer):



An RMO is a licensed medical doctor, usually in the early stages of postgraduate training, who resides in the hospital and provides care to inpatients. Responsibilities typically include:

Monitoring patient status Responding to emergencies Carrying out orders from senior doctors (consultants/specialists) Coordinating with nursing and allied health staff Assisting in procedures, surgeries, or ward rounds

Cardiac Unit:



This could refer to several specialized areas, such as:

Cardiology ward

- for patients with heart diseases (e.g., heart failure, arrhythmias)

Cardiac ICU (CCU)

- intensive care for critical cardiac patients

Cardiothoracic surgery unit

- for patients undergoing heart and chest surgeries

Cath lab

- where diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like angioplasty are performed
Responsibilities of an RMO in a Cardiac Unit:

Monitoring cardiac patients (e.g., ECGs, vitals, post-op care) Managing medications like anticoagulants, beta-blockers, etc. Assisting in cardiac procedures or post-procedure care Handling cardiac emergencies (MI, arrhythmias) Liaising with cardiologists, surgeons, and intensivists
