Role Description

The Risk division strives to protect the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s capital, integrity & reputation through provision of a robust risk management framework & supporting infrastructure.

The Risk Management Governance Structure in the US Region is designed to ensure robust entity, regional and global accountability, commensurate with the risk profile, structure, complexity and activities of the US entities, with clear lines of accountability for identifying, measuring and monitoring risks as well as calibrating risk appetite, where appropriate. It supports the US Chief Risk Officer in their responsibility to oversee risks for the Region.

This US Risk Manager role within the ERM Risk team will focus on maintaining, developing and overseeing the US Risk Management Framework. The governance process and the Risk Framework for US has been significantly enhanced over the last few years. New joiner will have the opportunity to work on an extensive, dynamic, and diverse risk profile, developing risk analytical skills across both financial and non-financial risks.

The role presents the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across different levels of seniority in the Risk organisation as well as outside of Risk. Key activities include: (i) Supporting the periodic delivery of the Risk & Capital Profile; (ii) Monitoring of key risk metrics against risk appetite; (iii) preparation of senior management and regulatory presentations / other written documents and (iii) supporting and driving the implementation and progress tracking of Risk Data Compliance project for US Branch.

Your key responsibilities

Senior management reporting:

• Support the delivery of the periodic risk report to senior management forums

Bow Management, and progress tracking:

• Work with workstream leads to ensure that they complete required milestones for Data Compliance Framework implementation.
• Monitor the crtitical key risk metrics against Risk Appetite.
• Report escalation of breaches or missed milestones
• Maintain calendar of the Risk Senior Management meetings incl. topics that require regular updates
• Take minutes for the periodic meeting for senior management\xe2\x80\x99s review; record and track actions after the meeting.
• Coordinate and work with key contributors to ensure timely, accurate and consistent risk reporting deliverables.

Relationship management:

• Build extensive relationships with stakeholders across DB.
• Manage and communicate with senior stakeholders on Risk topics as required.

Your skills and experience

Competencies:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Very strong analytical and reporting skills: able to produce quality management reports and analysis with a high attention to detail
• Understanding/ experience in financial and/or non-financial risk management,
• Background in Credit Risk / Market Risk
• Demonstrable project management skills: confident in handling a large number of tasks, maintaining large information sets, and meeting timely deliveries
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills required, in addition to ability to quickly pick up other programs/tools; MS Project, SharePoint and other project management IT tools would be a plus
• Interest in US banking regulations

Education and Experience:

• Relevant university degree (CA / MBA) or equivalent relevant professional experience necessary.\\
• 4+ years of experience in Risk management, financial industry
• FRM / CFA preferred.
