Essential Job Functions:

• Perform risk assessments of various power & renewables technologies, including hydro plants, wind turbines (onshore & offshore), solar (ground and floating), electrical systems (generators, transformers, distribution & transmission systems), and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Familiarity and eagerness to develop knowledge in international benchmarking codes and standards (e.g. IEC, IEEE, NFPA, FMDS etc.)
• Willing to carry out desk top reviews and validation of safety and fire systems.
• Keen eye for hazard identification with ability to relate risk probability and severity matrix.
• Calculate loss expectancies within company guidelines across a range of industries and insurance lines.
• Any other duties commensurate with position or level of responsibility.
• The risk assessments will be completed by conducting an analysis of submitted values, as well as various renewable and Power Generations sector reports which would be determined through the receipt of loss prevention survey reports from a variety of sources.
• The candidate must be able to interpret these reports and be able to translate the information into risk quality ratings and fire/Nat Cat loss estimates following company guidelines and utilizing available tools and utilities.
• Development of Engineering Service Plans
• Location level Risk Quality ratings for Fire and Nat-Cat (Site Review) by following established rules and guidelines.
• Account Reviews which include summarizing the key risk aspects, engineer's opinion and loss estimates
• Flood Loss Estimates for exposed locations using proprietary tools.
• Create Fire/Boiler & Machinery Loss Estimate profile.
• Capture account loss history and report on loss trends and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

• Skill required: Insurance Services - Property and Casualty Insurance
• Education:BE,BE
• Years of Experience:5 to 8 years

Required:

• A degreed engineer (B. Tech minimum), preferably within one of the following Engineering disciplines (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Candidate must be able to work with little direct supervision, reliable and dependable.
• The candidate ideally should have property insurance account / field engineering experience or relevant industry experience between 5 to 8 years with focus on fire protection knowledge.
• Knowledge of fire protection codes and standards like NFPA is preferred.
• Possess strong Analytical skills & Excellent Interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
• Candidate must be organized, self-motivated and willing to learn about the concepts of desktop risk assessment, Occupancy, Hazard, Fire protection and Loss estimation.
• Experience in operational, technical, or project roles within the renewable energy sector.
• Experience of working with TILs, SIL, LOPA, NFPA and other industry related codes, standards and guidance.
