Rigging Supervisor is responsible for producing high-quality rigs and deformation for feature films across all the projects. Supervisor would be engaged in the show planning and tracking from the very start along with rigging leads, Managing and planning complexities across the projects. Also, works closely with Asset/CG/VFX supervisors. Troubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation team. Research and recommend techniques to improve production. Collaborates closely with animation, modelling and shading to best achieve the intended animation performance requirements. Work closely with the Pipeline team to improve rigging technology.

Qualifications

Rigging Essentials:

  • 8+ years of experience with Maya
  • 2+ years Supervisory experience in Rigging on Feature film or Feature Quality Episodic production
  • Demonstrated knowledge and technical skills relating to character rigging and animation
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and mechanics
  • Strong communication and management skills
  • Experience with Mel and Python
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
  • Encouraging attitude towards feedback and new initiative.
Any of the following technical skills is a bonus:
  • Previous Experience in VFX production pipeline
  • Previous Experience with Linux
  • Previous Experience with GIT
  • Previous experience performing Character FX or Crowd tasks
  • Maya API / C++ programming experience
  • Knowledge of 3D math
  • Knowledge of unreal engine
