Relocation Authorized:International - Camp Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project Work Location:Sharma Project Description: Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company is providing Executive Project Management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.'NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.' NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways. Summary of Responsibilities: The Rigging will be assigned to the construction organization. Responsible for managing, coordinating and oversight of rigging related activities of the project. Provides expertise in the planning, review and ensure that the rigging operations and performance of the contractors are in compliance with plans, specifications, safety and quality requirements, whilst maintaining effective coordination among stakeholders. Essential Job Duties: Responsible for planning and supervising rigging works Provides technical input into the development of transport and rigging and lift strategies by advising rigging supervisors, construction contractors, and field engineering personnel on crane and heavy transport requirements Reviews medium and critical risk lift plans and site transport plans submitted by subcontractors or others, or organizes the approval for critical lift and transport studies with a Bechtel's Project Rigging Engineer (PRE) / Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) May supervise lifting operations and site transport movements on a project, organizing schedules with Project Controls and work with construction contractors Monitors compliance of rigging operations with approved rigging plans and applicable codes Plans load handling activities (with the assistance of a Rigging Engineer where required) Conducting rigging audits at project site Monitors the application of standard work processes and procedures and Core Process Ensures that signal persons, riggers, CPRs and crane operators are qualified / certified as required by statute and Bechtel's procedures Monitoring the performance of the rigging craft Develops rigging training materials and conducts rigging training courses for rigging engineers, supervisors and craft as required Ensuring Rigging gear and cranes are mobilized and used as per the project requirements Provides leadership in promoting a safe work environment Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations. Actively participates in scheduled safety and review meetings Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge, and Skill set Requirements: A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or prior practical work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant work experience Extensive working knowledge of rigging planning and execution standards and requirements Experience of working in mountainous terrains, in construction of region connecting projects such as roads, rails, related utilities and other infrastructures like camps, approaches, lifestyle buildings etc., Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation Extensive technical knowledge and experience in construction engineering in the use of lifting equipment, alternative heavy lifting systems, mobile gantries, jacking, tailing, rigging equipment, and load distribution systems, including an understanding of transport/transfer of equipment, soil mechanics, and structural steel design Knowledge and understanding of environmental, safety and health requirements on heavy-industrial construction projects Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC with proficiency in local language is preferred Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a knowledge sharing approach, maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk downs Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership Grade 26 Minimum 10 years of professional experience Grade 27 Minimum 15 years of professional experience
