Job Description

Role Overview:




The Rigger/Engineer supports the technical team in setting up, maintaining, and dismantling broadcast equipment and rigging systems for live events and productions. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments. You will work closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless project execution across various locations.


Key Responsibilities:




Assist with the installation, rigging, testing, and de-rigging of broadcast and AV equipment at event sites and studios. Ensure all rigging activities comply with NEP's safety standards and relevant regulations. Perform equipment checks, cabling, and signal testing during setup and live operations. Support Engineers and Project Managers in the design and execution of rigging and technical setups. Maintain accurate records of rigged equipment and ensure items are returned, cleaned, and stored correctly. Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs of rigging systems and technical equipment. Load and unload trucks safely, ensuring equipment is handled with care and accuracy. Participate in pre-event technical briefings and post-event debriefs to ensure continuous improvement. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of rigging gear, tools, and working environment. Drive company vehicles to transport equipment and assist with logistics when required. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and report any incidents or potential hazards. Support ad hoc technical and warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:




Technical diploma or equivalent experience in rigging, electronics, or broadcast engineering preferred. Minimum 1-2 years' experience in live event rigging, AV setup, or broadcast environments. Understanding of basic electrical and signal flow principles. Strong focus on safety, with knowledge of rigging standards and best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and site plans is an advantage. Physically fit and comfortable working at heights, with appropriate safety training (preferred). Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Basic spoken English required; additional languages are a plus. Forklift and/or MEWP license is a bonus. UAE driving license preferred.
