Harpy Aerospace is building the future of accessible space technology by developing innovative satellite systems, remote-sensing platforms, and scientific payloads. As we expand our satellite communications and payload capabilities, we are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented
RF Design Engineer
to strengthen our core engineering team.
Role Overview
As an
RF Design Engineer
at Harpy Aerospace, you will lead the design, simulation, and testing of RF subsystems for nanosatellites, including antennas, transceivers, and telemetry systems. You will collaborate closely with systems, mechanical, and mission operations teams to develop robust space-qualified RF solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize RF circuits: LNAs, mixers, filters, impedance networks, and power amplifiers
Develop and simulate antenna systems for CubeSats (UHF/VHF/S/L bands) using CST/HFSS
Perform link budget analysis for ground-space communication (TT&C and payload data)
Ensure compliance with IARU, ITU, and WPC regulations for frequency coordination
Support SDR integration, beacon systems, and custom transceivers
Create test plans and conduct functional RF testing with VNA, spectrum analyzer, and signal generators
Collaborate with mechanical and PCB layout engineers to ensure EMC/EMI compatibility and flight readiness
Document test results, prepare design reviews, and support mission operations post-deployment
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree / PhD in Electronics, Telecommunications, Avionics or RF/Microwave Engineering
Minimum 1-4 years hands-on experience in RF subsystem design and prototyping
Proficiency with RF simulation tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, CST, Ansys HFSS)
Experience with amateur satellite communications, modulations (2FSK/BPSK), and space mission protocols
Strong foundation in PCB design for RF layouts and test validation
Preferred Experience
Experience with CubeSat or small satellite programs
Familiarity with TI CC1110, or other space-rated RF modules
Understanding of satellite link budgeting, Doppler shift handling, and in-orbit RF diagnostics
Knowledge of ECSS or ISRO quality standards for spaceflight hardware
What We Offer
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge nanosatellite missions from concept to orbit
A collaborative, hands-on R&D environment with direct impact on mission success
Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives
Mentorship and growth alongside senior engineers and space scientists
A chance to contribute to India's new space revolution
