Position Overview:
The
Retail Trainer
will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for showroom staff to enhance their product knowledge, grooming, customer service, and sales performance. This role demands a strong understanding of jewellery products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to conduct both
classroom
and
on-the-job training
sessions.
The Trainer will ensure that all staff adhere to company standards, demonstrate brand values, and continuously improve their sales effectiveness and customer handling skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Design & Development
Develop comprehensive training modules on
Gold, Diamond, and Silver jewellery
, including product features, craftsmanship, certification, and hallmarking.
Design training content for
grooming, customer service, communication, and in-store etiquette.
Prepare interactive and activity-based training materials aligned with company objectives.
Training Delivery
Conduct
classroom training sessions
for new joiners and existing employees.
Provide
on-the-job training
at showrooms to observe, coach, and improve staff performance in real-time.
Ensure training sessions are engaging, practical, and tailored to each store's needs.
Training Need Identification (TNI)
Coordinate with Store Managers and HR to identify performance gaps and training needs.
Develop annual and monthly
Training Calendars
based on business priorities and performance analysis.
Evaluation & Effectiveness
Evaluate participants through pre- and post-training assessments.
Conduct
field evaluations
to measure skill application and behaviour change.
Assess the
ROI (Return on Investment)
for each training session based on sales performance, conversion ratio, and customer feedback.
Standardization & Compliance
Monitor adherence to
grooming standards, store behaviour, and customer service protocols.
Ensure uniformity in customer interaction and brand presentation across all stores.
Reporting & Coordination
Maintain training records, feedback forms, and attendance reports.
Prepare monthly training MIS and performance improvement reports for management review.
Coordinate with department heads to schedule training without disrupting store operations.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of
Gold, Diamond, and Silver jewellery
, including designs, purity, and pricing.
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills --
activity-based training preferred.
Confident communication, engaging body language, and professional appearance.
Proficiency in
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
for report and content preparation.
Analytical mindset for evaluating training ROI and performance improvement.
Ability to motivate, mentor, and connect with front-line sales staff.
