Store Manager Role Overview

Develop strategies to improve customer service, store sales, and profitability.

Create

store policies and marketing programs to grow the customer base.

Ensure customer

needs are met, complaints resolved, and service is efficient.

Ensure products and

displays are merchandised effectively.

Forecast staffing needs and implement an

effective recruiting strategy.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Schedule and assign employees to meet operational requirements.

Recruit, select,

orient, and train employees.

Coach, counsel, and discipline employees to maintain

performance levels.

Prepare annual budget, analyze variances, and take corrective

actions.

Build rapport with customers to identify current and future needs.

Maintain stock availability and marketing product readiness.

Implement security systems to

safeguard merchandise.

Maintain a safe and clean store environment for customers and

employees.

Ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.

Provide training and cross-training to ensure productivity.

Manage controllable costs to keep operations

profitable.

Manage stock levels and key inventory decisions.

Analyze sales data and market trends for informed planning.

Ensure quality, customer service, and safety

standards are consistently met.

Handle customer complaints professionally.

Organize special promotions, displays, and events.

Communicate performance updates, new

initiatives, and important issues.

Monitor retail industry trends and competitor activities.

Implement changes to enhance business performance.

Required Skills & Knowledge

High school diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years retail experience,

including 1 year in leadership.

Ability to motivate and lead teams effectively.

Strong customer service orientation and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of budgeting,

marketing, and strategic planning.

Understanding of retail technologies and current

market environment.

Strong sales skills with consistent performance history.
