Role Overview:
The Store Auditor is responsible for conducting regular audits across retail outlets to ensure adherence to company policies, operational standards, and brand compliance. The role focuses on assessing store performance in terms of inventory management, cash handling, visual merchandising, sales process compliance, and overall operational efficiency. The Store Auditor acts as the key link between the head office and retail teams to drive accountability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct periodic audits of company-owned and franchise stores as per the audit calendar.
Review cash management, billing accuracy, discounts, and refund processes.
Verify stock levels, inventory accuracy, and adherence to shrinkage control norms.
Evaluate compliance with SOPs related to sales, customer service, and store operations.
Assess visual merchandising, brand display standards, and hygiene parameters.
Review staff attendance, manpower deployment, and adherence to HR policies.
Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions for improvement.
Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting deviations and follow up on closure of audit points.
Support management in developing process improvements and audit checklists.
Collaborate with the finance, HR, and retail operations teams to ensure process integrity and compliance.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills.
Eye for detail with ability to identify process gaps.
Good understanding of retail operations, preferably in luxury or lifestyle segment.
Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and audit documentation tools.
Willingness to travel extensively across store locations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
2-5 years of experience in retail auditing, store operations audit, or internal audit.
Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or watch retail industry preferred.
Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of audits completed as per schedule.
Timeliness and quality of audit reports.
Percentage of audit points closed within defined timelines.
Reduction in process deviations and store-level discrepancies.
Improvement in operational compliance scores.
