Handle customer queries politely and professionally.
Encourage repeat purchases by building customer trust.
Billing & Cash Counter Management
Generate accurate bills using POS / billing software.
Handle
cash, UPI, cards, and other digital payments
responsibly.
Maintain correct cash balance at the counter.
Issue exchange/refund bills as per store policy.
Keep billing area clean and organised.
Product Handling & Display
Arrange products neatly on shelves with correct labels and prices.
Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) for organic products with shorter shelf life.
Monitor stock on shelves and inform management when refilling is required.
Handle grains, flours, oils, and open products carefully to avoid contamination.
Inventory & Stock Support
Assist in stock checking, inward entry, and basic inventory updates.
Identify low-stock or fast-moving items and report to management.
Help during new stock arrivals and restocking.
Check product quality, packaging, and expiry/shelf-life condition.
Hygiene & Store Standards
Maintain cleanliness at the billing counter and nearby shelves.
Follow organic food hygiene practices (clean hands, clean tools, no chemicals near food).
Report damaged, spoiled, or infested products immediately.
Returns & Customer Feedback
Handle customer exchanges/refunds politely as per policy.
Collect customer feedback and communicate suggestions or complaints to management.
Assist in maintaining customer records if required.
Opening & Closing Duties
Assist in store opening (switching lights, billing system setup).
Assist in store closing (cash tally, system shutdown, counter cleaning).
Coordinate with housekeeping staff for end-of-day cleanliness.
Discipline & Conduct
Maintain punctuality, honesty, and professionalism.
Follow store rules, pricing, and discount policies strictly.
Work as a team with other staff members.
Preferred Skills & Qualities
Experience in retail sales or grocery/organic store preferred.
Basic computer knowledge (billing/POS).
Good communication skills (local language + basic English).
Willingness to learn about organic food and natural products.
