Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Sales
Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
Understand customers' needs for sarees, fabrics, styles, and occasions.
Provide appropriate product information, suggest saree styles, and recommend coordinating accessories.
Use suggestive selling, cross-selling, and upselling to maximize sales value.
Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall store sales goals.
Product Knowledge & Advisory
Maintain strong knowledge of Taneira's saree collections, fabric types (silk, cotton, etc.), weaves, and regional designs.
Explain the craftsmanship, care instructions, and pricing (including any special making or embroidery costs).
Stay updated on new collections, seasonal launches, and promotions.
Store Operations & Merchandising
Assist in merchandising sarees and display pieces to create visually attractive presentations.
Help with inventory management: checking stock, organizing racks, handling back-stock.
Ensure the store floor, fitting area, and display racks are clean, tidy, and well organized.
Billing & Transaction Handling
Operate the POS system to process customer purchases.
Record accurate customer and sales details.
Handle returns, exchanges, or alterations per store policy.
Customer Service
Address customer queries, concerns, or complaints in a professional manner. Indeed India
Follow up with customers (if required) for special orders, custom sarees, or tailoring services.
Build lasting relationships to encourage repeat purchases and customer loyalty.
Team Collaboration & Compliance
Work closely with store manager and other sales staff to coordinate daily tasks.
Adhere to Taneira's brand standards, store policies, and ethical protocols.
Participate in periodic audits: stock counts, loss prevention, and daily reconciliation.
Required Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sales-oriented mindset with a good customer service approach.
Basic computer literacy (POS systems, Excel, inventory tools).
Ability to work in a target-driven environment.
Good presentation: neat, polite, and professional demeanor.
Honest, reliable, and responsible, particularly given the value of ethnic wear.
Experience
Preferably
1-2 years
of experience in counter retail sales or ethnic wear retail.
Freshers with strong aptitude and willingness to learn can also be considered.
