Roles and Responsibilities of a Retail Sales Executive
Customer Interaction & Sales
Greet and engage walk-in customers with a warm, professional approach.
Understand customer preferences, body type, occasion needs (wedding, festival, casual, etc.) and suggest suitable outfits.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of fabrics, cuts, embroidery styles, and design elements in ethnic and Indo-Western wear.
Up-sell and cross-sell complementary items like dupattas, accessories, or matching sets.
Convert footfall into successful sales and meet/exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Product Presentation & Store Upkeep
Maintain visually appealing merchandise displays based on themes, seasons, or promotional events.
Ensure all garments are steamed, tagged, and neatly arranged as per category (lehengas, kurtis, gowns, etc.).
Regularly rotate stock on display to highlight new arrivals and bestsellers.
Inventory & Stock Management
Assist in receiving, tagging, and organizing inventory in storage and display areas.
Keep track of fast-moving and slow-moving items and report to store manager or backend team.
Alert management about low stock or customer-demanded products for replenishment.
Billing & POS Operations
Handle billing efficiently through POS systems; ensure accuracy in price, discounts, and taxes.
Process payments via cash, card, UPI, and handle returns/exchanges per company policy.
Issue receipts, warranties (if applicable), and maintain cash register reconciliation.
Customer Service & Relationship Building
Build long-term relationships with repeat customers; remember preferences and offer personalized service.
Handle complaints, returns, or sizing issues with patience and professionalism.
Follow up with clients for feedback, alteration pickups, or special orders.
Promotions & In-Store Campaigns
Promote in-store offers, seasonal discounts, and new launches to customers effectively.
Support event-based campaigns like festive promotions, bridal weeks, or influencer visits.
Assist customers with online order pickups, exchanges, or virtual shopping queries.
Coordinate with e-commerce team to handle showroom-related online queries.
Reporting & Communication
Report daily sales, customer feedback, and footfall data to store manager.
Communicate any operational or customer-related issues for quick resolution.
