Job Description

Position Overview:

The Counter Sales Staff will be responsible for providing excellent customer service at the bakery counter, ensuring smooth day-to-day sales operations, and maintaining product display and hygiene standards. The role demands a friendly attitude, attention to detail, a passion for customer interaction and food handling in addition to having high levels of integrity and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:Sales & Customer Service

Greet customers courteously and assist them in selecting bakery and confectionery products. Provide product knowledge including ingredients, pricing, and promotions. Upsell and cross-sell items such as beverages, cakes, and speciality items. Accurately handle billing and cash/card/UPI transactions through POS systems. Interact with customers effectively and insist on billing while making every purchase. Maintain neat and attractive product displays at all times. Assist customers in selecting the correct product thus avoiding wrong selling so as to minimise sales returns and improve customer dissatisfaction.
Product Handling & Hygiene

Ensure freshness of items displayed and check expiry or quality standards. Follow hygiene, food safety, and personal grooming norms as per bakery policy. Take necessary precautions to avoid damage and misuse of items. Assist in packaging and labelling baked goods, and replenish stock as required.
Operational Support

Maintain daily computerised sales register and assist in inventory management. Coordinate with kitchen staff for order fulfilment and custom cake orders. Participate in outlet opening and closing procedures, including daily cash reconciliation. Report customer feedback or complaints promptly to the Supervisor/Manager. Adorn uniforms and accessories as advised by the management. Adhere to the staffing rules of the organisation and strictly follow attendance and leave norms. Willing to operate the software and other automation tools implemented by the organisation from time to time. Must be willing to travel to the Head Office or designated locations for attending meetings or to participate in training programs on prior intimation.
Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Qualification: Plus Two (12th standard) or equivalent. Prior experience (6 months - 2 years) in bakery / confectionery / retail / F&B outlet preferred. Freshers with good communication and customer service skills willing to serve at least two years in a retail outlet may also apply. Basic computer or POS billing knowledge is desirable. Conversant in Malayalam and basic English.
Skills & Attributes:

Pleasant personality with good interpersonal and communication skills. Customer-oriented attitude with patience and attentiveness. Punctual, reliable, and able to work in shifts (including weekends/holidays). Team player with a willingness to learn bakery products and processes.
Work Environment:

Indoor retail bakery setting with moderate standing time. Uniform and hygiene standards must be strictly maintained. Shift timings as per outlet schedule.

Pay: ₹16,900.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
