Retail merchandiser - Multi-Designer Fashion Store

Location: Chembur

Reports To: Senior Merchandiser/Founder

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser to manage the product assortment, inventory planning, and visual merchandising for our multi-designer fashion store. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fashion trends, sales analytics, and vendor coordination to ensure optimal stock levels, attractive displays, and maximum profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory & Assortment Planning:

Analyze sales data to determine fast-moving vs. slow-moving products and adjust inventory accordingly. Plan and execute seasonal sales strategies in collaboration with Stores. Ensure a balanced mix of styles, price points, and merchandise at store to cater to customer preferences. Forecast demand and prevent overstocking or stockouts.

2. Sales & Performance Optimization:

Monitor sales performance and suggest markdowns/promotions for slow-moving inventory. Work with the store sales team on product knowledge and upselling techniques. Identify best-selling categories and negotiate better terms with suppliers.

3. Vendor Relations:

Liaise with stores to ensure timely product deliveries and exclusivity (if required). Negotiate margin improvements, consignment terms, and return policies.

Reporting & Analytics:

Generate weekly/monthly reports on sales, stock turnover, and profitability. Use data insights to recommend pricing strategies and product placements.

Qualifications & Skills:

3+ years in retail merchandising, buying, or inventory management (preferably in multi-designer fashion/luxury retail). Strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, and designer wear markets. Proficiency in MS Excel, inventory software. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
