A Restaurant Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers politely and escort them to their tables.
Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations when requested.
Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system.
Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
Handle guest complaints or refer them to the manager when necessary.
Process payments and provide receipts or change.
Clear and reset tables for the next guests.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
Follow all safety and health regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience as a waiter/waitress is an advantage but not always required.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Positive attitude, teamwork, and reliability.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
