Job Description

Inventory Management:

Receiving and Storing:

Receiving goods from suppliers, checking for accuracy and damage, and storing them in the appropriate locations.

Maintaining Stock Levels:

Monitoring stock levels, placing orders when necessary, and ensuring that supplies are readily available when needed.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.

Inventory Control:

Implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, such as first-in, first-out (FIFO) methods, to optimize stock rotation and minimize waste.
Operations and Staff Management:

Coordinating with Suppliers:

Communicating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and negotiate prices.

Managing Staff:

Supervising and training staff members who assist with inventory management tasks.

Ensuring Compliance:

Adhering to relevant regulations and safety standards, such as those related to storage and handling of hazardous materials.
Other Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Assisting customers with inquiries and resolving any issues related to inventory or products.

Problem Solving:

Identifying and addressing any issues that may arise in the store or warehouse, such as shortages or discrepancies in inventory.

Cash Handling:

Depending on the role, storekeepers may also be responsible for handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records of sales.

Record Management:

Maintaining accurate records of all store operations, including sales, returns, and inventory adjustments.

Safety Compliance:

Ensuring that the store or warehouse is kept clean, organized, and safe for employees and customers.
