The Restaurant Steward ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the restaurant's kitchen and support areas. They collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain supply levels and contribute to the efficient operations of meal service.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize dishes, countertops, and kitchen equipment
Assist kitchen staff with food preparation as needed
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and restock as necessary
Ensure waste disposal is conducted in a sanitary manner
Support in the maintenance of kitchen storage areas
Assist with setting up and breaking down kitchen stations
Comply with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical stamina for lifting and standing for long periods
