Job Description

A hostess welcomes guests, manages reservations and waitlists, seats patrons at tables, and provides menus, serving as the first point of contact to ensure a positive dining experience by maintaining the entryway, coordinating with servers, and handling initial customer needs like phone calls and queries. Key responsibilities include creating a warm atmosphere, organizing seating, assisting staff during busy periods, and resolving minor complaints, requiring strong communication, organization, and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities:

Guest Welcome & Seating:

Greet customers warmly, manage reservations, provide accurate wait times, and escort guests to their tables.

Front-of-House Management:

Keep the reception area clean, tidy, and organized.

Communication:

Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and relay guest needs to waitstaff.

Support:

Assist servers, bussers, and other staff during peak hours.

Problem Resolution:

Handle initial guest complaints professionally.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Customer Service:

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.

Organization:

Strong multitasking, memory, and time management abilities.

Attitude:

Positive, calm under pressure, and a team player.

Technical:

Basic math for payments and familiarity with reservation systems.

Experience:

Previous restaurant or customer service experience is often preferred.
