The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for handling customer payments, billing, and providing excellent customer service. The role ensures accurate cash handling, smooth billing operations, and a pleasant dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and assist with billing and payments.
Operate the POS system to generate bills accurately.
Handle cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and other digital payments.
Ensure correct change is given and maintain cash drawer accuracy.
Resolve billing discrepancies or escalate issues when required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter.
Coordinate with service staff and kitchen for smooth order processing.
Prepare daily sales reports and submit cash to the authorized person.
Follow company policies on cash handling and fraud prevention.
Skills & Qualifications:
Basic computer knowledge and POS system handling.
Strong numerical and calculation skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience as a cashier in a restaurant, cafe, or retail outlet preferred.
Freshers with basic skills may also apply.
Education:
Minimum 10+2 / High School or equivalent.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced restaurant or cafe environment.
Requires standing for long hours.
