Job Summary:
The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for supervising the dining area, ensuring excellent guest service, coordinating between kitchen and service staff, and maintaining cleanliness and quality service standards. The Captain plays a key role in delivering authentic South Indian hospitality and cuisine experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests with a warm and courteous approach.
Ensure smooth and efficient service in the dining area.
Take orders, suggest menu items (especially South Indian specialties), and answer guest queries about ingredients or cooking style.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Supervise and guide waiters and service staff on the floor.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain daily sales and billing reports if required.
Assist in table arrangements, reservation management, and ensuring a high turnover without compromising service.
Monitor portion control and presentation to maintain authenticity and quality.
Provide training and motivation to junior staff.
Follow and enforce restaurant policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a South Indian or fine-dining restaurant.
Strong knowledge of South Indian dishes, ingredients, and service etiquette.
Good communication skills in English, Hindi or regional languages.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and customer service skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
