Role Description: Node.js / REST API Trainer Consultant

We are looking for an expert

Node.js and REST API Technical Trainer Consultant

for a critical

3-month, on-site engagement

in Chennai.

You will be the key subject matter expert responsible for designing and delivering high-impact, hands-on training focused on server-side JavaScript development. The goal is to rapidly equip our learners with the skills necessary to build scalable, secure, and performant back-end systems using Node.js and industry-standard RESTful API design principles.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery:

Conduct intensive, project-based training sessions on

Node.js

and its core ecosystem.

Framework Mastery:

Lead deep dives into popular Node.js frameworks, such as

Express.js

,

NestJS

, or similar.

REST API Design:

Teach advanced topics in designing, developing, documenting (

Swagger/OpenAPI

), and securing robust

RESTful APIs

(including authentication/authorization flows like JWT/OAuth).

Database Integration:

Provide training on connecting Node.js applications to databases, including both

SQL

(e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and

NoSQL

(e.g., MongoDB), and utilizing ORMs/ODMs.

Scalability & Performance:

Cover best practices for asynchronous programming, error handling, microservices concepts, and optimizing Node.js performance.

Material Development:

Create, update, and refine comprehensive training materials, coding labs, and challenging practical application assignments.

Mentorship:

Evaluate participant code, provide constructive feedback, and offer one-on-one technical guidance to ensure mastery of the subject matter.

Tools:

Incorporate training on essential development tools like

Git/GitHub

and relevant deployment concepts (e.g., Docker basics).
Qualifications (Mandatory)

Experience:

Minimum

2+ years of professional, hands-on experience

developing and deploying production-level back-end applications using

Node.js and REST APIs

.

Training Background:

Proven experience in a

Technical Training, Teaching, or Corporate Mentoring

role.

Tech Stack:

Deep proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and API development best practices.

Commitment:

Must be available to commit to a

full-time, 3-month consulting engagement

starting immediately.

Location:

Communication:

Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working as a trainer or consultant within the

EdTech

or corporate training sector. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud deployment environments. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
