: Resin Production Operator
Position Overview
The Resin Production Operator is responsible for executing day-to-day operations of resin/varnish production equipment -- including reactors, blenders, mixers, condensers, and utility systems -- ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing as per batch sheets, SOPs, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
Operate reactors (1 KL - 20 KL), blenders, mixers, kettles, condensers, and vacuum systems as per SOP.
Charge raw materials according to batch card, coded RM system, and approved sequence.
Monitor reaction parameters: temperature, pressure, agitation speed, vacuum, distillation rate, water removal, reflux, etc.
Maintain process conditions during esterification, condensation, blending, dilution, or varnish preparation.
Perform solvent handling, dilution, blending, and viscosity adjustments as required.
Assist in sampling for QC at defined checkpoints (AV/HV/viscosity/gel time).
2. Equipment Monitoring & Control
Ensure proper functioning of reactors, blenders, pumps, agitators, thermic fluid heater, chiller, and cooling tower.
Check integrity of valves, pipelines, mechanical seals, safety valves.
Report equipment malfunctions to the Plant Head/Engineering team.
3. Safety & Compliance
Follow PPE rules (helmet, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, respirator when required).
Handle flammable solvents, hot reactions, and blending operations with full safety compliance.
Maintain housekeeping, spill control, and follow all EHS standards.
Adhere to SOPs for charging, heating, blending, distillation, nitrogen purging, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
4. Documentation
Maintain production logs, batch cards, RM consumption records, and hourly parameter logs.
Record material movement using the coded RM system (chemical names hidden from plant).
Coordinate with QC/QA for approvals and deviations.
Update daily production reports, wastage, and utility consumption.
5. Coordination
Work closely with QC for sampling and quality approvals.
Coordinate with warehouse for RM indents and FM transfers.
Support maintenance team during preventive maintenance or breakdowns.
Assist R&D during pilot trials or sample batches in small reactors/blenders.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
ITI / Diploma in Chemical / B.Sc. (Chemistry) or equivalent.
1-5 years of experience in resin, paint, varnish, polymer, or chemical manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with reactor and blender operations.
Ability to read batch cards, follow SOPs, and maintain process discipline.
Preferred
Experience with polyester, alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane, or insulating varnish plants.
Familiarity with coded raw material systems.
Basic computer literacy (ERP/production log entries).
