The Society Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations, administration, maintenance, and compliance of the housing society. They act as the primary point of contact between the residents, committee members, staff, and external vendors, ensuring the society runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with statutory norms.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration & Coordination
Oversee day-to-day operations of the housing society.
Coordinate with residents and address complaints, requests, and suggestions.
Maintain society records, circulars, and notices.
Maintenance & Facility Management
Supervise housekeeping, security, gardening, and technical staff.
Ensure regular maintenance of lifts, generators, water pumps, fire safety equipment, and other infrastructure.
Oversee annual maintenance contracts (AMC) with vendors.
Finance & Accounts Support
Coordinate with society accountant/treasurer for collection of maintenance dues.
Assist in preparing budgets, managing expenses, and ensuring cost efficiency.
Keep track of defaulters and follow up on payments.
Legal & Compliance
Ensure compliance with housing society laws, local municipal rules, and safety regulations.
Help prepare documents for audits, inspections, and society meetings.
Staff & Vendor Management
Recruit, supervise, and manage society staff (security, housekeeping, maintenance).
Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and ensure quality service delivery.
Community Engagement
Facilitate society meetings (AGM, SGM, etc.) and circulate minutes.
Assist in organizing cultural, social, or community welfare activities.
