Protech Home Design is searching for Residential Architectural Technologist / Designer/Draftsperson to join our residential home design firm. We are a Canadian firm that is looking to hire an individual overseas that is confident in their skills to complete Canadian home elevations, floor plans, cross sections and site plans NOTE: We are only looking for people who is fully trained in Archicad, We require someone with strong design skills in Archicad who can work independently to develop and design custom home blueprints. Your role in the company will be to design and create residential floor layout blueprints elevations, floor plans, cross sections and site plans for clients. The senior architect will provide projects for you via email, and expect you to create a blueprint that is up to standard and accuracy, and then email it back. The senior architect will check your work to meet industry standards and if it is done to standard and accurate in measurements. This jobs allow you to work from home. Pay is based on experience, as well as a retirement/savings plan provided by the firm. You will be required to work nights and share your screen at all times. Main responsibilities and requirements: Has archicad on their own personal computer and knowledge on how to use it. Must have a knowledge of wood frame construction for Canadian homes. Is able to confidently create floor plans in 2D and 3D for custom homes. Able to do elevations, floor plans, cross sections, site plans and electrical. Is confident with a variety of residential projects such as single family homes, duplexes, row housing, and multi-family homes. Prepare and maintain construction site layout drawing sets. Match specifications with drawing sets. Ability to read architectural and structural blueprints. Application Process: Step 1: Send in your resume with your education and work experience. And sample of your work is a must. Step 2: Upon reviewing your resume if we are interested we will contact you with a pilot project. This pilot project will be a practice blueprint that you will have to complete and email back. Do not apply if you do not intend on completing a custom practice blueprint based on criteria we send you. This is for the firm to get a sense of your skill level and abilities in drafting and designing. This is the most important step of the application process and is your chance to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of residential home design and your ability to create detailed working drawings (elevations, floor plans, cross sections and site plans). You must have complete knowledge of wood frame residential construction. The senior architect will look over the completed plan to see if it is up to standard in terms of Canadian residential blueprints, and will also consider the time frame in which the pilot project was completed. This is essentially a practice run to see if you were hired what working with you would be like? How are your email communications? Are you able to complete projects that we send you with accuracy and up to standard (in other words do you really know what you\'re doing?) ? How long does it take you to complete one project (ideally no more than 2-3 days). Step 3: Successful candidates that have completed the pilot project will be contacted to set up a interview. Step 4: If you\'ve made it past the interview congratulations, and you are hired! You will be sent a employment contract to sign and will begin working for Protech Home Design once all necessary paperwork is completed.
