Job Description

Critical Care & Casualty:-



1. Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities



Provide

round-the-clock medical care

to patients in

Casualty, ICU, HDU, and Emergency

. Perform

initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and resuscitation

of emergency patients. Ensure timely initiation of

life-saving interventions

(ACLS, BLS, ATLS protocols). Monitor critically ill patients and document

vital parameters, intake-output, ventilator settings

, and progress notes. Assist consultants during

emergency procedures

(intubation, central line, chest tube, etc.). Ensure

prompt referral and escalation

to consultants when clinically indicated.

2. Emergency & Trauma Management



Handle

medical, surgical, trauma, poisoning, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergencies

. Follow

triage protocols

and ensure priority-based treatment. Coordinate with

OT, ICU, Radiology, Blood Bank, and Ambulance services

during emergencies. Ensure

golden hour management

and timely shifting of patients.

3. Documentation & Legal Compliance



Maintain accurate and complete

medical records

as per

NABH & medico-legal norms

. Ensure proper documentation of: Admission notes Daily progress notes Consent forms Discharge / Death summaries MLC cases and police intimation Ensure

informed consent

before procedures.

4. NABH, Quality & Patient Safety



Adhere strictly to

NABH standards

, hospital SOPs, and clinical protocols. Follow

infection control practices

(hand hygiene, biomedical waste segregation). Report

adverse events, near misses, and sentinel events

as per hospital policy. Participate in

clinical audits, mock drills, and quality improvement activities

.

5. Coordination & Communication



Coordinate effectively with

consultants, nursing staff, technicians, and support staff

. Communicate patient condition clearly to

patients' relatives

in a compassionate manner. Ensure smooth

handover during shift changes

.

6. Medication & Equipment Management



Prescribe medications rationally and ensure

safe drug administration

. Monitor availability and functioning of

emergency equipment

(defibrillator, ventilator, monitors). Ensure

crash cart readiness

and daily checklist compliance.

7. Training & Supervision



Guide and support

junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff

. Participate in

CPR training, emergency drills, and CME programs

. Maintain

clinical competency

through continuous learning.

8. Administrative & Ethical Responsibilities



Follow hospital

duty roster, attendance, and discipline policies

. Maintain patient confidentiality and

ethical medical practice

. Assist hospital management during

emergency preparedness and disaster management

.
