Resident Medical Officer (Casualty / Emergency Department)

Full-Time / Rotational Shifts (including nights and weekends)

Job Objective:



To provide immediate medical care to all emergency and trauma cases, ensuring stabilization, triage, and coordination with specialty departments for further management in accordance with hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities:1. Emergency Patient Management:



Attend to all incoming emergency and trauma cases promptly. Perform clinical evaluation, triage, stabilization, and initiate treatment protocols. Manage acute conditions such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, trauma, poisoning, burns, seizures, etc. Conduct procedures like CPR, airway management, wound suturing, IV access, catheterization, and minor surgical aid.

2. Coordination & Escalation:



Coordinate with senior consultants, surgeons, anesthetists, and ICU teams as per the nature of the case. Arrange for immediate investigations (X-rays, ECG, CT, etc.) and interpret urgent results for treatment decisions. Coordinate with the ambulance team for pre-hospital care and patient transfer.

3. Documentation & Reporting:



Maintain proper documentation of patient condition, time of arrival, treatment given, and response. Prepare MLC (Medico-Legal Case) documentation and report cases to police authorities as required. Record all events, procedures, referrals, and transfers systematically.

4. Patient & Family Communication:



Communicate with patient relatives regarding condition, procedures performed, and next steps. Counsel families in critical situations with empathy and clarity. Ensure that consent is taken for procedures, transfers, and medico-legal cases.

5. Protocols & Compliance:



Follow triage protocols, infection control practices, and resuscitation guidelines. Participate in mock drills, audits, and quality checks for emergency preparedness. Adhere to NABH and hospital-specific emergency SOPs.

Qualifications & Experience:



Education:

MBBS / BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / or equivalent medical degree

Experience:

2 to 5 years in casualty/emergency department.

Skills & Competencies:



Quick decision-making under pressure. Sound clinical knowledge of emergency protocols. Ability to handle trauma and medico-legal cases effectively. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
