:
Provide initial assessment, stabilization, and management of all incoming patients.
Conduct regular rounds in wards/ICU and monitor patient condition, vitals, investigations, and treatment progress.
Carry out orders given by consultants and ensure that treatment plans are implemented accurately.
Manage basic medical and surgical emergencies and initiate first-line treatment.
Assist in procedures as required (catheterization, IV lines, Ryle's tube insertion, wound care, CPR, etc.).
2. Emergency & Critical Care Duties
Attend promptly to casualty/emergency patients and triage according to severity.
Initiate emergency management including airway, breathing, circulation support, and stabilization.
Coordinate with on-call consultants for emergency cases and ensure timely escalation.
3. Documentation & Administrative Tasks
Maintain accurate and updated patient medical records, treatment sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Ensure proper documentation of consent forms, incident reports, and medico-legal cases (MLC) as per protocol.
Coordinate with nursing staff, diagnostic departments, pharmacy, and other units for smooth patient care.
4. Patient Communication & Coordination
Communicate patient condition, progress, and treatment plans to relatives in a clear and professional manner.
Address patient complaints and coordinate with the medical administration for resolutions.
Provide counseling regarding medication adherence, follow-ups, and preventive care.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and biomedical waste management guidelines.
Monitor medication safety, patient identification protocols, and emergency preparedness.
Report critical events promptly and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
6. On-Call & Shift Duties
Provide continuous medical coverage during assigned shifts (day/night).
Remain available for emergencies and respond immediately when called by nursing staff or consultants.
Ensure smooth handover of patient information to the next RMO during shift changes.
7. Professional Conduct
Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
Demonstrate teamwork, communication skills, and a patient-centric attitude.
