Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessment & Management:

Provide initial assessment and management of all emergency patients. Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and initiate appropriate interventions. Manage acute medical, surgical, trauma, and pediatric emergencies. Support rapid diagnosis using clinical skills, imaging, and lab investigations.

Triage and Prioritization:

Assist in triaging patients based on the severity of their condition. Ensure timely and appropriate care delivery.

Coordination of Care:

Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, and other medical departments for further treatment, referrals, or admissions. Ensure effective communication with patients and families about their condition and management plans.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including history, examination, diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress notes. Complete medico-legal documentation as required.

Shift Work & On-call Duties:

Work in shifts (day/night/rotational) to ensure 24/7 emergency coverage. Respond to internal emergencies such as code blue or rapid response calls.

Training & Supervision:

Guide and support junior doctors, interns, and paramedical staff. Participate in ongoing training, CME, and departmental audits.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

MBBS

Registration:

Valid registration with [Medical Council Name or Licensing Body].

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency medicine or a hospital setting.

Skills:

Strong clinical judgment, emergency decision-making, team coordination, and communication skills.
