The Resident Counselor is responsible for providing emotional and psychological support to students residing on campus. This role involves offering guidance on personal, academic, and social issues, helping students navigate challenges, and promoting a positive living and learning environment. The Resident Counselor plays a key role in ensuring student well-being and facilitating personal growth through counseling, workshops, and crisis intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Counseling and Support
Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students, addressing emotional, social, academic, and behavioral issues.
Offer group counseling on common issues faced by students, such as stress management, academic pressure, and interpersonal relationships.
Maintain confidentiality and establish a trusting relationship with students to encourage open communication.
2.
Crisis Intervention
Respond promptly to crises involving students, such as mental health emergencies, conflicts, or distressing situations.
Develop and implement intervention strategies, including referrals to external mental health professionals when necessary.
Coordinate with school administration and health professionals to ensure timely intervention and support.
3.
Wellness and Preventive Programs
Design and conduct workshops, seminars, and events focused on mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and stress management.
Develop wellness programs that encourage a healthy lifestyle and coping mechanisms for challenges.
Promote and encourage participation in wellness programs and activities among students.
4.
Student Development and Mentorship
Act as a mentor, providing guidance on academic and personal development, goal setting, and self-care practices.
Support students in building healthy relationships, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
Encourage and support students' participation in extracurricular activities and community events.
5.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and follow-ups, ensuring confidentiality.
Prepare periodic reports on counseling activities, student issues, and wellness program effectiveness for review by school administrators.
Track progress and document student participation in wellness programs and workshops.
6.
Collaboration and Coordination
Work closely with residential staff, teachers, and administration to identify students in need of counseling or support.
Liaise with parents, guardians, and external mental health professionals, as needed, while respecting student confidentiality.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on student welfare and support services.
7.
Training and Development
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay updated on counseling practices and mental health issues.
Share best practices with other resident counselors and support staff to enhance the overall student support system.

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?18,000.00 per month
