Position Purpose
The role holder shall report to the Group Leader - Process Engineering. Should have sound knowledge of Process Chemistry Scale up along with exposer to various chemistries such as Gaseous, pressure etc. He/She shall perform research activities, conducting scientific experiments, analyzing and interpreting, scale up to KL/PP, leading to significant value addition to the business of PI by Process Innovation.
Strategic Responsibilities

• Efficient contribution to the overall success of R&D by driving innovation and team performance by collaborating with Innovation scientist to achieve objectives and targets set by the Director - PRI Process Innovation / Group Leader.
• Fulfilling requirements as set by Group Leader within specific Research Projects
• Ensuring the security of intellectual property for R&D (patent applications)

Operational Responsibilities

• Keep self-updated on new developments and techniques in synthetic chemistry and process research by constant and continuous literature Search.
• Continuous documentation and reporting of all research results obtained within the area of responsibility as defined in the SOP / guideline
• Incorporating engineering inputs in terms of equipment & instrumental setup during the product development phase mitigating re-iteration of experiments caused due to equipment limitations during the scale up phase.
• Performing scale up tasks i.e. considering all engineering parameters such as P/V ratio, agitator selection, heat load calculations, mass balance, hydraulic calculations etc. at kilo lab scale.
• Seek functional support actively from Team Leader
• Carrying out literature search by use of available tools (Reaxys/Sc finder/Patents etc.)
• Carrying out synthetic experiments safely, efficiently, capturing all the experimental procedures and data
• Updating the GL on the project progress/issues on a regular basis
• Constructive and active participation in all technical and functional meetings of the Team
• Responsible for individual safety and housekeeping of the lab

Education Qualification

• BE/B.Tech Chemical in Organic Chemistry from a reputed University / Institute from India or overseas with excellent academic credentials
• Knowledge of Software's such as Dynochem and Visimix etc.

Work Experience

• Good experimentalist with experience in industry for 2-7 years, preferably from Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS).
• Experience of working on gas/vapour phase reaction desired
