We are looking to hire a Research Executive in our Homecare R&D Science & Technology team based in Unilever R&D Bangalore.
Background:
The Hygiene team is involved in generating insights and delivering new technologies for delivering superior hygiene benefits through our products. One of the key thrust areas within the program is to build the Hygiene capabilities as well as identify and screen next generation antimicrobial technologies for microbe control in hygiene, understanding the Mode of action of actives, prevention of Odour to claim hygiene benefits and understanding the home microbiome with its attendant influence on human well-being.
Responsibilities:
Candidate is expected to carry out \xe2\x80\x9cin silico\xe2\x80\x9d experiments.
Design, develop and validate new tools for the analysis of Omics data with focus on microbiome.
Build GSMMs of relevant microbes to predict their behaviour.
Build workflows for data analysis of omics data using the best-in-class packages available
Interpret data and communicate scientific results through technical reports and presentations.
Management of services (in specific areas as appropriate) through audit of 3P partners and academics
Fields of Responsibility:
Deliver data insights from Omics experiments, Biochemical pathway analysis, bring new in silico capabilities for modelling and simulations.

Interact with the project team to translate the insights to innovations to move the projects forward.
Interact with 3P labs and external partners to carry out routine microbiological measurements and co-ordinate with them to ensure good data generation.
Desired Profile:
B.Tech Biotechnology/M.Sc Bioinformatics
Strong programming background in either R/ Python.
Hands on experience in genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomic data analysis methods and tools
Interested to develop knowledge and understanding of current and emerging NGS data analysis techniques, Protein modelling, MD simulations etc.
Experience in data validation and documentation.
Good understanding of statistics and data analysis tools.
Sound knowledge in basic data processing software.
Should be a team player and have good communication skills.
Very well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic and confident.
